If you are having trouble selecting your feed in your Google Ads standard shopping or performance max campaigns using feed labels, then the issue will be due to a missing feed label value when your data feed has been setup.

In this tutorial I also explain how to edit your existing feed label in Google Merchant Center Next
How To Fix?
Google Merchant Center Next
Currently there is no way to edit an existing feed label in Google Merchant Center Next, the solution to this problem is to create a new feed and delete the old one.
- Go to Google Merchant Center Next
- Click on the cog icon (top right corner)
- Click on Data sources
- Click on Add product source

- Now select Add products from a file or Use a Google Sheet template
- Scroll to the bottom and now you can see the edit icon to edit / add a feed label.

As indicated, if you have already created a feed, you can not edit the label, but you can add it by re-creating the feed setup.
If you can’t see the feed label option, try to enable advanced data source managment in the add ons option when clicking on the cog icon.
Google Merchant Center Classic
- Log in to Google Merchant Center
- Go to Products
- Select Feeds
- Select your feed

- Select the settings tab
- Click on the 3dot menu
- Select add feed label (advanced)

- Add your ISO 2 Country Code (if you don’t know this value, then search for it on Google, or use any value you like)
- Click on Add

Hello, I want to remove buy now button from my products listed on google shopping. I cannot find feed in my merchant account. Please help.
You need to remove the checkout links.
What to do when this “with feed label” option is missing? 🙂
Yes, that is a difficult one. I believe some accounts just can’t enable this. I don’t know why some accounts have this, and some don’t. But I believe it has to do with how the account was historically setup.
I would suggest sending feedback to Google, as I believe it should be added for all accounts, not just some.
Thanks for the reply! Yes I’ve opent a ticket with Google, but they are not the fastest to respond. Without this feed label it is impossible to get a country dedicated feed for Google Shopping Ads. Hopefully this can be fixed. 🙂
If anyone has a solution to this, I would love one.
You can target a dedicated country, by simply choosing the country target in your Google Ads campaign. There is no difference between feed label and country target. For targeting countries.
Yes that is correct, but I have specific feeds for the different languages. For german ads I need to be able to select the german feed with german productnames. Without the feedlabel it will select all NL products so that would include both NL and DE productnames; if both feedlabels are NL.
I recommend choosinge the target country + language, this should allow you to only show ads for the correct language.
What do you mean by this? I am thinking about just adding the german feed, so I would have 2 NL feeds. And manually exclude the NL products from the DE ads and visa versa. Is there a better way to go about this? Like a language detection in Google ads?
The setup you need seems complicated if you don’t want to use the default settings. For service details please reach out at [email protected] and happy to help.
Google finally pointed me in the right direction and I got it to work. Apparently there is an addon in GMC where you can add advanced settings. When this add on is active you can add and change feed labels. 🙂
Yes, I found that out as well, in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K1AL6eIX_PU
