Get More Engagement in Google Shopping When Using High Resolution Images

Google recently announced the importance of high-resolution images for the enhanced performance of merchants’ product listings. This strategic move is set to maximize visual appeal and provide a comprehensive depiction of the items on sale, effectively improving user experience and overall sales performance.

Google strongly suggests that merchants include at least three high-resolution images for each product listing. The image count recommendation is increased for those merchants listing apparel products (jewelry, watches, clothing), where a minimum of five high-resolution images is proposed.

Generally, Google suggested using square images. However, now merchants have the flexibility to opt for either a 4:3 or a 16:9 aspect ratio. The choice between these two popular standards offers room for diversity in presentation and aligns with various screen layouts, accommodating a wide array of display options.
