New Customer Support Info For Google Merchant Center

Google has added a new feature in Google Merchant Center Next, you can select your preferred contact method alongside tagging if you support live chat or bot support.

You can edit your business information by going to Google Merchant Center Next > Business Info > Edit Business Info

Live chat and chatbot support

Enabling one or both lets you show your customers that you support said support. I have not seen any ads or free listings with this feature, but I assume that as merchants begin to adopt this new feature, we will start seeing this in shopping listings.

Preferred contact method

With this drop-down option, you can show your customers which contact method you prefer. These are:

  • Website
  •  Email
  •  Phone number
  •  Live Chat
  •  Chatbot
