How To Add an Existing Supplement Google Sheet In Google Merchant Center Next

If you have migrated to Google Merchant Center Next, you might have noticed that you can not add any existing Google sheets, like you could with Google Merchant Center Classic. I am sure when enough people complain about this that Google will add this feature.

In this article, I will explain how to submit an existing Google Sheet. These are alternative options, and are not the best, but at least it works.

Option 1

  • Go to data sources
  • Click on the supplemental sources tab
  • Click on add supplemental product data
  • Now we want to select Add prdouct data from a file
  • Enter your Google Sheet URL
  • You will notice there is an error that says This link doesn’t appear to be valid
  • To fix this, you remove everthing after the question mark and append .txt
  • Click on continue
  • Select your primary feed and click on create data source

Now open your Google Sheet and set the sharing option to anyone with a link.

Now click on update in Google Merchant Center Supplemental Feed

Option 2

You can use the Google Sheet template method and copy your contents of your original sheet.

Simply create your Google Sheet from a template, then copy your contents from your original Google Sheet, to the template Google Sheet.
